Day 13

I woke up thinking maybe it wasn’t my best idea to constantly put my glass up for refills last night…..

But at least the builders held off so we had a decent lie in before breakfast which I struggled to eat as I was still full up

Then we went back to the room to organise all our bags to ensure that if we lost anything, it wouldn’t be the souvenirs

We had a tiny bit of shopping to do and then we thought we’d have lunch

Unfortunately today was the hottest day of the holiday so once the shopping was done, we decided to retreat to the room for a while to stop us feeling like we were melting

When we did indeed go for lunch we went back to the place that did the amazing pork baguette

It was still amazing but on Joss’ showing, Argentina has beaten her too as she barely touched anything bar the chips

We then did a quick search for Patagonia Amber beer so we could have one last drink of our favourite South American tipple before it was back to the room for final showers and bag packing

The driver turned up exactly on time and it took about 45 minutes to get to the airport and another 45 to get through customs and the last bit of shopping

I will sign off here for the day but here are some things I have learned about Argentina and ourselves

1 : There is no point to zebra crossings - you basically take your life in your hands crossing any road

2: Like Chile, the people are very friendly

3: Buenos Aires is more affluent than Santiago, and because of this we weren’t constantly advised of dangers facing foreigners

4: Argentinians like red meat

5 : Argentinians are very good at preparing red meat

6 : Once abroad, Joss loses the ability to know where she’s going to the point that I’m surprised she can get from the bed to the bathroom

7: Messi is to Argentina what Sonny us to South Korea

8: There’s only so much red meat you can eat before you start to crave vegetables

9: if it’s this hot in spring, I’m certainly glad we didn’t come in summer

10 : When scanning your bags at the airport, keep a tight rein on Joss as she is liable to walk away completely forgetting that she had any bags, wallets, watches etc because of the shiny things just round the corner
